Beacon Financial Group, LLC is a partnership owned and operated by Pete Benson and Jon Maxson. During the initial planning stages, they realized they shared a passion for helping people and had common personal goals. Beacon Financial Group, llc began as a company which primarily focused on helping people in or near retirement with the specific challenges associated with that time of life. Since then the business has evolved and now offers investment solutions for people of all ages. The “Safer Money” approach which was the foundation of the company, remains the cornerstone of Pete and Jon’s approach when offering financial advice. Beacon Financial Group has grown from two co-owners to a company with nine employees and a new office building located in Franklin, Tennessee. Our clients range in age from 30’s to 80’s, come from all walks of life and are located throughout the Middle Tennessee area.

Pete Benson
Pete is a founding co-owner and partner of Beacon Financial Group. While taking his Masters Degree in Counseling at a University in Boston, Pete discovered a passion for helping people with their finances. This developed into a vision of owning a business that focused solely on providing honest, simple financial advice for people of all ages. This vision has expanded and given Pete opportunities to talk to groups in the U.S., Canada and into Europe. Pete is married to his high school sweetheart, Ginne. They have three children and five grandchildren. Pete and Ginnie are involved in their local church and other non-profit organizations.
Jon Maxson
Jon is also a co-owner and partner in Beacon Financial Group. After spending several years in corporate America with a promising career ahead of him, Jon had a desire to do something that would allow him to have a direct impact on peoples’ lives. The opportunity to join Pete in a new business venture was exactly what Jon was looking for. Jon and Mary Ann have been married for 16 years. During the first 13 years of their marriage, they were childless. Since that time God has richly blessed them with two sons: Nathan, born March of 2006 and Noah, born March of 2008. While the business and two young sons keep Jon and Mary Ann extremely busy, they remain very involved in their local church.
Dan Benson
Three years ago, Daniel, Pete’s son, graduated from Central Wesleyan University in Central, SC with a Business degree. During an internship with Pete & Jon the previous summer, Daniel realized his career search was over. Daniel and his wife Ashley moved to Nashville 3 years ago. They have 2 children, a beautiful daughter Kayleigh, and a very busy son, Connor. Daniel is an invaluable member of our team. His focus on each and every client he comes in contact with has earned him tremendous respect. Down the road when Pete & Jon decide to “retire”, they know that Beacon Financial Group will be in good hands.
Wesley McNeil
Wes joined Beacon Financial Group in October, 2009. In 2002, Wes graduated with a BA in Liberal Arts with a major in Religion from a college in eastern Canada. While attending there, he met Melinda, who is now is wife. Wes and Melinda have two adorable children, Asa (4) and Lillian (2). While leading a non-profit organization, Wes realized he loved helping people with their personal finances. This led Wes to study for his professional financial licenses. Once he obtained these, Pete, who has known Wes for many years, contacted Wes and discussed the opportunity for him to join our sales team. He and Melinda decided this would be a great opportunity for them and moved their family from New York to Tennessee. Since joining our team, Wes has learned our practices and processes fully and is a very capable and knowledgeable representative for Beacon Financial Group.
Ginnie Benson
During the first 10 years of Pete & Ginnie’s marriage, Ginnie was a stay at home Mom who taught piano lessons for a second income. Once their 3 children were all in school, Ginnie sought out some part time employment. She was called in for a 1-day assignment at BellSouth Mobility and it turned into a 13 year career. Ginnie was promoted several times and advanced to the level of Director of Telesales for Cingular Wireless. During this time, 2 grandsons were born, and Ginnie had a desire to spend time with them as well as with her and Pete’s families in Canada. She made the decision to end her career and has never had a moment’s regret!
Ginnie now gets to help out at Beacon Financial Group on an “as needed” basis. She likes to spend her “spare time” helping with her 5 grandchildren, and traveling to Canada to spend time with family there.
Linda Higgins
Linda was born and raised in Michigan. She was been married to Scott for 17 years, and they have one son, Sean.
While working for the airline industry, Linda was transferred to Nashville TN. She worked at AT&T for many years and was Administrative Assistant to Ginnie Benson.
When Pete & Jon started BFG, Ginnie quickly recommended Linda as their first, full-time employee and she quickly earned her current position of Office Manager. She is responsible for the overall operation of the office and oversees our office staff. Linda’s loyalty and commitment to BFG make her an invaluable asset to our team!
Julie Moses
Julie was born and raised in Nashville, TN. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. She has been married to Jim for 19 years and they have 3 sons, Dalton - 14, Ryan - 9 and Kain - 6.
Julie was Security Manager for Macy’s for 17 years. She heard about Beacon Financial Group through a friend and upon interviewing Julie, we realized she had tremendous abilities and a wonderful personality and offered her a position immediately.
Julie is our Transfer Specialist and will make sure you understand the process of moving money from your old account to your new account. She is our resident paperwork expert and her hands on approach and attention to detail ensure that each client’s accounts are handled efficiently and effectively.
Kelly Lusk
Kelly was raised in Gaffney, South Carolina. She moved to Tennessee where she attended Columbia State College. She fell in love with the area and with a young man, Paul Lusk, whom she is now married to. Kelly is in involved with the preschool program at the church she and Paul attend.
Jon met Kelly while she was working at Cracker Barrel and took note of her consistent, positive attitude. He approached her about working for Beacon Financial Group as receptionist. Kelly accepted his offer and is now a valuable member of our team. She will answer your call and if she is not able to answer your questions, she will make sure you get to the appropriate person.
Jonathan Frazier
Jonathan Frazier, born and raised on the east coast of Florida, came to TN a few years ago in need of some new scenery. After spending a couple years at college in his home state, he decided it was time for a change and headed north to continue studying Christian Leadership at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. Upon moving Jonathan met his now wife, Lindsey, within weeks of settling in, and hasn’t looked back since. With a new baby girl (Emery) in tow, the Frazier’s have rooted themselves in the community and are excited to grow even more. Jonathan’s roles include head of marketing and event planning, handling of life insurance and long-term care, and in-house tech guy.
Lori Perry
Lori was born and raised in Hendersonville, TN. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University. Lori worked at AT&T for over 8 years and while there, she got to know both Ginnie and Linda. She was laid off in 2001 at which time she and her husband Jack decided it would be a good time to start their family. When an opportunity for a part-time position became available at Beacon Financial Group, Linda approached Lori and she decided it would be a great way to get back into the business world.
Lori handles all of our Annuity paperwork and ensures that it is processed correctly and in a timely manner.
Lori and Jack have been married for 10 years and they have 2 children: Jacob (7) and Caroline (5).
Mandy Glenn
Mandy was raised in Nashville, Tennessee where she attended Nosi College of Art for Photography. She is involved in an outside volunteer program, Special Riders, twice a month and loves working with special needs children. Pete and Ginnie met Mandy while she was working at Maggiano’s Italian Restaurant, downtown. They immediately observed Mandy’s outgoing personality and her ability to provide her customers with extraordinary service. When the Client Relations position opened at Beacon Financial Group, we knew Mandy would be a great fit. Mandy keeps everyone’s schedules running smoothly and is a pleasure to work with.
Mandy fell in love with “the boy next door”, John Glenn and they have been married for 1 year.
Laura Flowers
Laura was raised in Indiana and graduated from Anderson University. She and her family lived in Michigan and Ohio prior to moving to Tennessee in 1999. Laura was a staff member at The People’s Church, where Jon attends, and Jon had the opportunity to see Laura’s strengths and abilities in action while they served as volunteers on leadership teams and in Student Ministry. Laura is the newest member of our team and has already proven herself to be a valuable asset to us.
Laura and her husband Terry will celebrate 25 years of marriage this summer. They have four children: Kimberly, Kendra, Zachary and Jordan.
